The Daily Prayer Of Commitment

If you follow what we are about to share with you, this will be the last day you have a thought filled with worry and fear. The daily prayer of commitment is when you make the resolute decision to commit to trusting God with all of your cares and worries. You can push fear aside and enjoy the peace that only God can give.

The Bible tells us time and again not to worry. Worrying does nothing but produce things in our lives that we do not want. It creates stress, anger, and even death. Jesus constantly instructed us to not fear. Paul wrote about it time and again. God is all around against it because it is a strategy created and used by the enemy against Christian Believers.

CAST YOUR CARE ON GOD

In Philippians 4, it is a command from God. It says to be careful about nothing. That in everything we should pray daily and be thankful to God. We should let Him know what we need but not be fearful.

The Amplified Bible says that we should not fret or be anxious. In 1 Peter 5, the Bible says to cast all our cares on God so that in due time He can exalt us. That scripture is clear and does not say to only cast part of our care on God. All means all.

It doesn’t pray about everything but your career. It does not pray about everything but your health or finances.

START YOUR DAY LIKE THIS

You should say pray every morning that you trust God no matter what. That you don’t have a worry because you have cast all your cares on the Lord. Every single negative thought that comes to your mind should be passed over into God’s hands. Roll it over on Him because He loves you.

Here’s a great example of this. If you were standing 10 feet from me and let’s say I throw my car keys over to you. If anyone else came up to me and asked for my car keys I would tell them there is nothing I can do. I have given the keys over to that person. They have them and I do not.

I wouldn’t say that they don’t exist. I didn’t say that they couldn’t walk over and get them. If someone wants my car keys they would have to go and talk to you because I gave them to you.

This is exactly how we need to treat our worries and fears. We should pray and give them over to God and never take them back. When the enemy brings thoughts of despair, in those moments we tell him to go and talk to God because your cares are in His hands.

We aren’t denying that they don’t exist. God has them and we don’t.

A BIG PRAYER MISTAKE

Many Christians hope that God will take away their worries. That is not how it works. Peace doesn’t come that way. It comes by praying and obeying God’s Word and casting all our care and anxieties on Him. We must make the decision and replace those thoughts with God’s promises.

Philippians 4 says to control our minds and think about good things. When we do, God promises that His peace will set a guard over our hearts and minds to protect us. We have to act on our faith. We must keep control over our thought life.

2 Corinthians 10 says that it’s up to us to cast down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. We’re the ones who need to bring every thought into captivity.

When people say that they can’t stop worrying, that’s not true. They absolutely can.

The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but they are powerful through God. They can pull down the strongholds the enemy tries to put in our minds through daily prayer and taking action on their faith.

Anyone can stop worrying if they choose to. Make the decision to pray the daily prayer of commitment and cast all of your cares on God. Choose to not take them back. Let God work on them while you refuse to worry.

Fasting & Prayer – How To Do It

There are two different forms of fasting and it is important to know the difference. There is a proclaimed fast and then there is a personal fast. Let’s jump into how each of these is unique. These 2 types of fasting were explained by Jesus in Matthew 6.

To be clear, we do not fast to try and impress and move God. There are some people who believe that if they fast and suffer long enough that somehow they are going to get God to do whatever they ask. That if they manipulate Him in just the right way then finally He will move on their behalf and bring about the purpose of their fast.

Hurting or injuring yourself does not impress God. Holding off from eating or even drinking (which we never recommend) will only leave you with hunger pains. The key to remember is that fasting and prayer change you.

A PROCLAIMED FAST

Now let’s talk about a fast that you proclaim. There are many reasons for this type of fasting. Maybe you need to hear from the Lord about where to go or what to do. This is a fast done with more than just one person for the sole purpose of uniting Believers into a place where they can all hear from God. The reason for this is that when you know which direction God wants you to go then you can all pray in that same direction.

The biggest reason that proclaimed fasts work so well is that it keeps people in one accord and all their minds are facing the same direction. The direction they are facing is toward God’s Word. All distractions are dropped and they align together focused on God. This type of fasting makes tremendous power available that often manifests right in the middle of the fast.

When the Holy Ghost moves in the midst of a group of people on a proclaimed fast, it is a sight to see. All of them are praying and minister to God. This type of coming together brings about lasting change that often impacts not only the community but the whole world.

In the atmosphere of this type of fast God is given front and center stage. He is number One and it’s all about His will and His way. This is when God speaks and directs. It is valuable and works so well because of the singleness of the mind. There is a sole purpose and everyone involved is on the same page. It’s just like praying in agreement. It makes a lot of power available.

So in this fasting time together instructions are given by God. When those who hear it walk it out, the results are miraculous.

A PERSONAL FAST

This is the second type of fast and is the most popular. This is when you fast in secret. You decide what You are seeking God about and keep it front and center. This helps carry you through to the end of the fast. It’s important to be specific here and know what the purpose is.

Empty plate of food.

If you set your faith in God and believe in the answer you will find that when the pressure sets in, you can overcome it. Keeping the reason why you are personally fasting at the front of your mind makes the whole process much easier.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD AND NEW

Fasting under the New Covenant is different than fasting under the Old Covenant. In the old, they would be chastised through the process. The Lord loves those He chastised was the promise they could stand on. In the new, it is much different.

Under the old, repenting meant to be sorrowful to the point that you would inflict yourself with pain and suffering. Under the new, it means to have a change of mind. To turn from one direction to another.

The good news is that as a Christian living under the New Covenant, God will not hurt you. Physical punishment was put on Jesus and the price was paid in full. God uses His Spirit to teach you. He uses His Word to correct you.

Hindrances To Our Prayers

God wants to answer the prayers we lift up to Him. Not only have we been given the Holy Spirit, but we also have God’s Word. This means we can know His will and when we pray in accordance with it, we can be confident that He hears us.

Prayers that go unanswered are not the Lord’s fault. It isn’t because He decided to ignore us or that He is in any way unwilling. It is because there are hindrances and hurdles.

Scripture after scripture encourages us that God is looking all over the world to show Himself strong on behalf of those who love Him. Those whose heart is perfect towards Him. The great news is that when we become aware that our daily prayers can be hindered, we can learn how to avoid those traps.

There’s simply nothing like having God answer our petitions. Jesus said in Mark, chapter 11, that if we want what we pray to happen, we need to believe that we receive the answer before it arrives. That is praying in faith.

He didn’t say that only one or two things would come to pass or that every now and again one of our prayers would get answered. He said all and that is one huge statement to encourage us.

DOUBT & UNBELIEF ARE THIEVES

Two great robbers and hindrances are doubt and unbelief. Despite appearing to look alike, they are indeed different. Doubt will rob us of God’s blessings.

Doubt and faith don’t mix therefore those who doubt will feel disconnected from God. It’s like a disease that creeps in and eventually the person doubts that God will even reply to his prayers.

As a result, they begin to pull away from God. They don’t spend as much time with Him. They rarely open their Bible. This directly affects God’s power in their life.

The source of doubt is not understanding God’s Word. For example, if someone doesn’t believe that God will provide, they’ll never look to Him to meet their needs.

Or if they don’t believe in healing, they’ll not rely on God for miraculous intervention. This means they don’t have faith in the Lord. No faith, no answer, which leads to more hindered prayer.

AVOID TROUBLE WITH YOUR PRAYER

The key to avoiding running into unanswered prayer is gaining more knowledge of God’s Word. It is through this godly knowledge that we can fellowship and grow our relationship with God.

Our love for Him increases. We begin to realize that the more we know He loves us, the more we can believe Him to come through for us. We start to learn more about just how good He is and we will live in faith accordingly.

Therefore, when they pray they know that God has heard them. They can rest in His faithfulness and tap into their patience until God’s answers show up at their door.

Now unbelief in God is another beast. It’s when a person knows that God exists but they make a choice to not believe in Him. They look at the Bible and consider it just stories. He may even know some scriptures but he chooses to live in the flesh and not in the spirit.

The way to rid yourself of unbelief is again to seek God through His Word. The scriptures must take the number one place in your life. No matter what, the person must make the decision to believe God over their situation.

They will not allow tradition or what they see and feel to determine what they believe. They will pray according to God’s will and trust that He will bring deliverance.

The person knows that God would never promise one thing and mean another. He is a God of His Word.

This same person refuses to be moved by what they see. They trust God no matter what.

When you pray, expect your circumstance to change. God is faithful and He will answer your prayer.
